FAQs

What’s the difference between a face cord and a full cord?
How much wood is in a pickup load?
How do I know how much to order?

A face cord is a single row of wood, 4 feet high and 8 feet long. A full cord is 3 rows deep (4 ft x 4 ft x 8 ft). When you see “pickup load = face cord” on our site, that’s one row of stacked wood.

One pickup load is equal to a face cord. If you need more for the season or for a long stay at the cabin, you may want 2–3 pickup loads (2–3 face cords) or a full cord.

For occasional fires, 1 face cord (one pickup load) is usually enough for several weeks. For regular heating or long winter use, plan on multiple face cords or a full cord. If you’re not sure, contact us and we’ll help you size it.
